Biography :

Francesca Jimeno Ruff is a forensic professional and pharmaceutical chemist with a Master’s degree in Research Methodology, specialized in the analysis of biological evidence in sexual crimes. Her work focuses on developing sensitive and reliable methods for detecting male sexual fluids, especially in cases where sperm evidence is limited or absent, such as in child sexual abuse. She was awarded the First EPIREZ “Gold” Prize (2006) for innovation in criminalistics. Her research on prostate-specific antigen as a forensic biomarker has been published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences, integrating high-sensitivity and high-specificity techniques to optimize detection and enable confirmation through nuclear DNA analysis.
